BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Cotton sowing has started in Turkmenistan's Dashoguz region, Trend reports via the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Some 275,000 tons of cotton are planned to be harvested in 2022 in the northern region of the country from 140,000 hectares. About 2,500 tractors are to be used.
Preference is given to such varieties of cotton as Yoloten-39, Jeyhun, S-4727, Dashoguz-120, Dashoguz-114, Gubadag-3 and 149- F.
A total of 580,000 hectares have been allocated for cotton this year. According to the plan, at least 1.25 million tons of cotton should be harvested in Turkmenistan after processing, cotton will go to local textile factories, also for export to Russia, Turkey, China, and other countries.
