BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan Hoja Ovezov held a meeting with Acting Minister of Energy and Water of Afghanistan Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, Trend reports citing Orient news.
During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in the energy sector, including the issue of extending electricity supplies to Afghanistan. They exchanged views on the Turkmen electricity import program and touched upon electrification projects in the Afghan districts of Khomab and Qarqin of Jawzjan province.
The ambassador stated Turkmenistan's readiness to extend the contract for the supply of electricity to Afghanistan and the implementation of cooperation in electric power projects.
Currently, Turkmen electricity is exported to Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
