BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. The trade turnover between Russia and Turkmenistan from January through March this year amounted to $386 million, Trend reports.
According to the official source of Turkmenistan, during the reporting period, the trade turnover between the countries increased by 10.4 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.
Thus, Russia took third place in the total volume of trade turnover with Turkmenistan from January through March this year.
The increase in Turkmenistan's trade turnover with Russia is explained by the establishment of close ties with Russian regions such as the Republic of Tatarstan, Astrakhan and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as the city of St. Petersburg.
Meanwhile, the indicator of Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover for the first three months of this year as a whole increased by 8.4 percent.
