Uzbek Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ireland headquartered in London Otabek Akbarov presented his credentials to Irish President Michael Higgins, Jahon News Agency under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said today.
According to the report, while accepting Akbarov's credentials, Higgins expressed hope that the appointment of the first Uzbek ambassador to Ireland will further develop and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening and expanding Uzbek-Irish cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
