An unidentified assailant tossed two improvised incendiary devices on to embassy grounds at approximately 7:30 a.m. (GMT + 5 hours) September 28, the message of the US Embassy in Tashkent said Sept.29.

"One of the incendiary devices exploded," said the message. "Immediately following the explosion the embassy went on lockdown. No one was injured in the blast. The embassy is no longer on lockdown and is open for business."

Visitors to the US Embassy will notice an increased security presence as a result of this event, according to the message.

An investigation on the event is underway and the US Embassy is cooperating with local authorities, the message said.
