The Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to the United Nations, in cooperation with experts from the global structure, developed a draft resolution on “Strengthening regional and international cooperation for peace, security and sustainable socio-economic development in the Central Asian region".

The Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to the United Nations developed a draft resolution on “Strengthening regional and international cooperation for peace, security and sustainable socio-economic development in the Central Asian region”, the Uzbek media reported.

The launch of the initiative of Uzbekistan to promote and adopt such a document was officially announced at a round table at the UN headquarters on Feb. 23.

The participants were provided with detailed information on background and prerequisites of the need to develop a universal resolution.

It was stressed that over the past two years, an unprecedented level of cooperation has been observed in Central Asia thanks to the purposeful and consistent policy of the leadership of Uzbekistan.

Heads and representatives of delegations of the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Russia, India, Germany, EU, Iran addressed the round table.

The delegations of the Central Asian countries unanimously expressed their full support for the initiative of Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness for further joint work to advance the resolution.
