The number of cattle in Uzbekistan has reached 12.6 million heads, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee in Uzbekistan.
The total number of cattle in Uzbekistan in July was 12,611,800 heads, which is 356,500 less than at the beginning of the year (12,968,300). In comparison with last year's indicators, the number of cattle in the country increased by 127,400 heads.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 93.4 percent of the total cattle population in the country falls on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The main share of the total cattle population is as follows:
Kashkadarya region - 12.4 percent
Samarkand region - 12.2 percent
Bukhara region - 9.6 percent
Karakalpakstan Republic - 8.7 percent
According to the April report of the State Statistics Committee, at the end of the first quarter of 2020, there were 12,745,500 head of cattle in Uzbekistan. During the second quarter, their number decreased by 137,700 heads.
