Uzbeks can be given the right to trade on crypto exchanges for national and foreign currencies, Trend reports with reference to the National Agency for Project Management under the President of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that the crypto-exchange also carries out registration, release, and (or) circulation of issued tokens by residents and (or) non-residents of the country. The crypto exchange is obliged to ensure the approval of the procedure for registration, issue and (or) circulation of the issued tokens.
At the moment, cryptocurrency trading in Uzbekistan is prohibited at the legislative level. It is also prohibited in the country to pay for services or goods with cryptocurrency.
In Uzbekistan, all operations with cryptocurrency must be carried out exclusively on the crypto exchange, which opened in January 2020. At the same time, citizens can only sell crypto assets, and buying currency is not allowed due to the low financial literacy of the population.
UzNEX (Uzbekistan Cryptocurrency Exchange) is the only cryptocurrency exchange in Central Asia, its market operates in the national currency, credit cards and US dollars. Citizens of Uzbekistan were given the right to sell cryptocurrency on the exchange, and residents of Uzbekistan will be able to use all services of the cryptocurrency exchange within the framework of national legislation.
