Uzbekistan shares data on paper and cardboard imports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Uzbekistan has imported some 260,800 tons of paper and cardboard worth $390.2 million from January through December 2022, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, Uzbekistan’s volume of paper and cardboard imports increased by 29,600 tons, compared to the same period in 2021.

Russia (143,800 tons) was the main paper and cardboard exporter for Uzbekistan from January through December 2022.

The remaining exporters were: China (57,700 tons), Belarus (12,500 tons), Finland (11,900 tons), Germany (8,300 tons), Sweden (4,000 tons), Ukraine (3,600 tons), Türkiye (3,400 tons), Poland (1,800 tons), etc.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover in 2022 amounted to $50.8 billion. During the reporting period, the largest foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan was Russia. The trade turnover between the countries in 2022 amounted to $9.2 billion. This figure increased by 23 percent compared to 2021 – (18.6 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan).

In 2022, Russia imported from Uzbekistan carpets worth $4 million, textile products worth $1.2 billion, about 541,900 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $486.7 million, 146,700 TVs, 105,300 refrigerators, 547,400 pairs of footwear, 41,100 washing machines, etc.
