Uzbekistan sees decrease in coal production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Uzbekistan’s large enterprises produced some 682,000 tons of coal from January through February 2023, Trend reports via the State Statistic Committee of Uzbekistan.

The country’s coal production decreased by 22.3 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (878,600 tons).

During the reporting period, the industrial enterprises of Uzbekistan overall manufactured products worth 72.8 trillion soums ($6.3 billion), increasing by 9.1 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (66.7 trillion soums or $5.8 billion).

Uzbekistan, in the reporting period, also produced some 110,700 tons of diesel fuel, some 263,900 tons of gasoline, some 209,500 tons of gas condensate, as well as trucks (350), car engines (21,402), buses (114), tractors (7), lead batteries (190,800), refrigerators (65,200), etc.

In 2022, Uzbekistan produced 5.3 million tons of coal, which is 5.9 percent more, compared to the figure for 2021 (5.05 million tons).

At the same time, the enterprises of Uzbekistan in 2022, manufactured industrial products worth 551.1 trillion soums ($48.4 billion), which is 5.2 percent more than what was produced during the reporting period in 2021.
