TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 11. The total investments portfolio of projects of the UAE in Uzbekistan as of today exceeds $4 billion, Trend reports.
As Uzbek Presidential Administration reported, the figure was revealed during the conversation between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan.
Currently, the portfolio of investment projects covers various sectors such as green energy, agriculture, transportation and logistics, tourism infrastructure, and others.
The sides discussed further development of comprehensive cooperation and the implementation of major investment projects involving leading Emirati companies, noting the high dynamics of the growth of trade turnover, the increase in the number of joint ventures, and air routes between the two countries.
Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan warmly congratulated the Uzbek leader on his victory in the recent elections and sincerely wished prosperity and well-being to the Uzbek people.
During the conversation, the importance of continuing an active dialogue at the highest level and advancing major projects in trade, economic, investment, financial, and humanitarian cooperation was particularly emphasized.
Recently, the UAE's Masdar energy company has signed an agreement with the Government of Uzbekistan on the joint implementation of solar PV and wind power projects of total capacity of 2,150 MW and 500 MW worth $2.6 billion.
