Iran's gas production in South Pars to hit 285 mcm per day

The volume of gas production in South Pars will reach 285 million cubic meters, SHANA reported quoting Managing Director Pars Oil and Gas Company Musa Souri as saying
"Currently Phases 1 to 8 of South Pars produce 245 million cubic meters per day, counting the launching of Phase 9 and 10 completely in current solar year (started on March20,2011) the volume will reaches to 285 mcm," he said.

He noted the development plan of Phase 11 started with aid of Chinese oil company CNPC by review of data last solar year, while Iran asked the CNPC to speed up the project , the plan aims to produce 56 mcm sour gas per day from Phase 11 in South Pars.

Currently 54 percent of Phase 12 completed while it's expected the Phase will start production on September 2012 while 60 percent of development in Phases 13, 22,23,24 and the refineries of Phases 15 and 16 will be launched on current year.

He expected the gas production increases to 800 million cubic meters gas in South Pars by next three years and Iran's share of gas production will be equal to Qatari rival.
Iran South Pars oil and gas field is one of the largest in the world and predicts up to $130 billion in revenues per year.

The South Pars oil and gas field covers an area of 3,700 square kilometers. It is located 3,000 meters below the seabed
