Baku, Azerbaijan, July 12

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Development of Iran's Lavan Refinery is incomplete after 8 years.

The development plan is aimed to boost gasoline production capacity to 2.8 million liters per day and improving quality to meet euro-4 standards, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported on July 12.

The development plan started eight years ago and was scheduled to be completed in Iranian fiscal year 1390 (March 2011-March 2012).

Abbas Kazemi, the managing director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, said in October 2014 that the development plan had progressed by 96 percent.

The plan is aimed to boost crude oil refining capacity from 30,000 barrels per day to 60,000 bpd, gasoline from 1.08 million liters per day to 2.8 million liters per day, diesel from 1.7 million liters per day to 4 million liters per day, and LPG from 30 metric tons per day to 200 metric tons per day.

The refinery will also produce jet fuel meeting international standards.

Lavan's jet fuel can be supplied to the domestic market and be exported to regional countries, as well.
