The Iranian government is reducing energy subsidies on electricity bills for high energy users, Trend reports citing the Energy ministry website.
The following regulation aims to encourage high energy users to reduce electricity consumption. The government has set the electricity tariff for users that will be applicable from January 21. The users that consume electricity properly will have full subsidies for electricity bills.
The energy subsidies will be reduced for high consumption users, and they would face higher electricity bills.
The statistics show more than 75 percent of users have complied with the consumption model and the rest are high electricity users whose consumption was twice more than the regular ceiling.
