Iran's aquatics export increases

TEHRAN, Iran, May 2. Iran's aquatics export increased by 23 percent, reaching 151,000 tons in the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), said the head of Aquatics' Production and Trade Union of Iran Ali Akbar Khodaei, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"The country's fishery export revenues stood at $535 million, indicating growth, compared to the $470-million revenue in 2020," he said.

Khodaei pointed out that Iran's sixth development plan expects $600 million in annual revenue from aquatic's export in 2025.

Iran has been exporting fisheries to 21 countries, including southeast Asian, Arabian, and European countries.

According to the official, Iran has directly exported 14,200 tons of fish to China, 11,200 tons to the UAE, and 4,200 tons to Russia.
