Leri Khabelov elected President of Georgian NOC

Leri Khabelov is elected the new President of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia. A total of 59 of congress delegates voted for him during elections to NOC held on Thursday. Incumbent president Gia Natsvlishvili received 43 votes.

Leri Khabelov is elected the new President of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia. A total of 59 of congress delegates voted for him during elections to NOC held on Thursday.
Incumbent president Gia Natsvlishvili received 43 votes.

President of the Association of Journalists of Georgia Elguja Berishvili is to serve as the first vice-president of NOC and Olympic pistol champion Nino Salukvadze and Mamuka Khabareli have taken the post of vice-presidents.

It should be noted that Khabelov is an activist of premiere Ivanishvili's "Georgian Dream" and Gia Natsvlishvili is a member of the United National Movement of Mikhail Saakashvili.
