A Russian businessman of Georgian origin was beaten in Tbilisi's restaurant Tavaduri.

He is a member of the "United Russia" party, chairman of the "Union of Georgians in Russia" Mikhail Khubutia.

Khubutia was in a restaurant with his friends. Then he went outside to take something from his car, the Georgian media reported.

When he came back to the restaurant, the security guards did not let him enter. They beat him as a result of a quarrel.

The security guards were from "Algani" private company. Khubutia was questioned by the police at night.

The Georgian interior ministry has filed a criminal case on article 125 (beating) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
