(dpa) - The charred body found in the torched US embassy building in Belgrade after protests in Serbia on Thursday was that of a 20-year-old student from Novi Sad, the Belgrade Press daily reported on Saturday citing sources from the local military hospital.
The young man's father had identified the body, it was said.
The student was from Novi Sad, 70 kilometres north of Belgrade.
The US embassy building was torched during a massive protest in Belgrade against the independence of Kosovo and Western support for it.
The fire had apparently spread across the ground and first floor of the attacked consular section.
