Actress Court, star of Corman horror flicks, dead at 82

English-born actress Hazel Court has died at age 82, according to reports Thursday. ( dpa )

She starred in horror movies made by cult director Roger Corman in the 1960s, including The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death and The Curse of Frankenstein. Performing opposite Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre, Court was known for her blood-curdling screams and terrifying death scenes.

She died of a heart attack Tuesday at her home in Lake Tahoe, California, the Reno Gazette Journal newspaper reported.

Before her work in Hollywood, Court performed in numerous love stories and dramas in Britain, and later worked in numerous US television series.
