Türkiye Materials 2 August 2013 02:48 (UTC +04:00)

Turkey hosts more than 200 thousand Syrian people, said Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag on Thursday, Anadolu Agency reported.

Bozdag stressed Turkey's policy of hospitality and said they had always been on the side of victims and the downtrodden people.

He reminded how Turkey opened its doors to Iraqi people when Saddam Hussein committed genocide against the people of Halabja, and similarly to Bulgarian people in the early 1990s against the government's cruelty.

"Giving the needy a helping hand is a practise of our history, culture, civilization, and tradition," said deputy PM.
