The volume of cargo transshipment by the Turkish port of Gemlik in 10M2021amounted to over 11 million tons, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the ministry, ships flying the flag of Turkey through the port of Gemlik transported 848,634 tons of cargo, while ships flying the flags of other countries – over 10.1 million tons.
"The Turkish port of Gemlik in 10M2021 handled 52,299 tons of transit cargo," the ministry noted.
Around 318.9 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports from January through October 2021.
During the reporting period, 25.02 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag.
Around 293.9 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flags of other countries through the Turkish ports from January through October 2021.
Moreover, 63.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period.
Some 32.4 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in October 2021.
Around 2.4 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag while 30.04 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries in October 2021.
