Labor migration from Turkey to Uzbekistan significantly increases

The number of trips of Turkish citizens for employment to Uzbekistan significantly increased in January-February 2022, Turkey's Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend.

During the period, the number of Turkish labor migrants to Uzbekistan rose by 109.1 times compared to January-February 2021, amounting to 46.

A total of 2,397 Turkish people left abroad via ISKUR in the reporting period, which was 48.1 percent more than in January-February 2021.

Some 86,595 Turks were provided with jobs through ISKUR in February 2022. At the same time, 99.6 percent of applicants got a job in the private sector.

Meanwhile, the number of unemployed in Turkey reached 3.18 million in February 2021, out of which 49.8 percent were women and 50.2 percent were men.

The number of Turkish citizens provided with jobs through ISKUR was 87,681, out of which 58.7 percent were male and 41.3 percent were female. Some 98.9 percent of job seekers were employed in the private sector.

The number of unemployed in Turkey reached 3.171 million in 2021, Women comprised 49.8 percent of the total, and men 50.2 percent.
