The volume of gas, daily supplied to the population and other consumers of Azerbaijan, amounted to 26.43 million cubic meters as of December 7, 2014, versus 26.06 million cubic meters as of early December 2014, Azerigas Production Association (PA) of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) told Trend Jan.7.

Azerigas is engaged in the distribution and sale of natural gas to consumers in Azerbaijan.

The daily volume of gas consumption amounted to nearly 15.91 million cubic meters in Baku as of Jan.7, while around 10.52 million cubic meters of gas was consumed in the country's regions, the production association said.

The increase in gas consumption is related to the autumn-winter season.

The number of subscribers of Azerbaijan's gas operator exceeds 1.7 million.

Worsening of weather conditions is expected in Azerbaijan starting January 8. In this context, Azerigaz said that these days, gas will be provided in accordance with demand.

Periodic restrictions in the supply of gas on the territory of the country are associated with the work to improve the level of gasification, which currently stands at 90.4 percent.
