Bulgaria is interested in importing Iranian gas via its neighbor Greece.
Bulgarian Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said after a meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh in Tehran that Sofia looks forward to importing the gas via the Greece-Bulgaria pipeline, Mehr news agency reported July 12.
He added that the two countries have also considered joint investments in oil and gas sectors, including the construction of a gas terminal for imports in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in a meeting with Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri a day earlier said the two countries are considering the launch of a corridor for the transit of various goods, including gas.
Greek Minister of Energy Panos Skourletis recently said his country is ready to transfer Iranian gas to other European countries.
