Iran, Russia reach agreements over ICT co-op

Iran and Russia have reached good agreements in the field of information technology, according to Iran’s Deputy Minister of ICT Mehdi Mohtashami.

The agreements were made during a last week trip by Russia’s deputy minister of ICT to Tehran, he said on the sidelines of a joint economic committee meeting of the two countries, IRNA news agency reported December 12.

Mohtashami explained that the preliminary agreements concerned search engines, bandwidth, fiber optic and hardware.

“We have also decided to finalize our talks with Russia over remote-sensing satellites,” he said.

In the first seven months of the current Iranian year (since March 20), Iran exported worth $86.5 million goods to Russia.
