Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 April / Trend, M. Aliyev /

The relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic should be viewed not only through the context of energy cooperation, but also on a wider scale, the Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Deputies of the Czech Republic Jan Hamachek said at a meeting with the Vice-Speaker of the Milli Mejlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Valekh Alesgerov.

There is a very close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic in the economic, energy and other fields, he said.

Highlighting the role of inter-parliamentary relations in the expansion of bilateral relations, Alesgerov expressed confidence that the relations between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic will develop to a higher level.

"Our ties are not only in energy cooperation. There are many areas where it is possible to raise the level of cooperation, including industry, agriculture, tourism, culture, medicine and other fields," the deputy speaker said.

The Czech Republic is a friendly country to Azerbaijan, Hamachek said during the meeting.

"We support Azerbaijan's efforts to integrate into European institutions. The Czech Republic is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to Azerbaijan in this area," he said.

Hamachek has invited Azerbaijani colleagues to visit the Czech Republic, highlighting the importance of the development of bilateral relations in various fields.

The Czech guest said relations between the two countries should not be limited to energy issues. The visit of high-ranking representatives of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic will create conditions for the development of the tourism sector in both countries.
