Ruins of ancient buildings were discovered during excavations conducted by the Archeology and Ethnography Institute of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences in ancient archaeological complex in Shahtakhti in Nakhchivan.

Ruins of ancient buildings were discovered during excavations conducted by the Archeology and Ethnography Institute of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences in ancient archaeological complex in Shahtakhti in Nakhchivan.

Ruins of ancient buildings date from various periods, the Institute's researcher Gahraman Agayev told Trend.

"Residuals of buildings dated from the Middle Bronze Age, were discovered under the ruins dated from the Late Bronze Age. That is why we expanded the territory of excavations," Agayev said.
