Five Syrian army defectors and three government force members have died during clashes in the southern Syrian province of Daraa, a rights group said Sunday, dpa reported.
The clashes began when thousands of government troops stormed the area of al-Lajat and raided a residential building in the city of Nawa, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
