The new majority in Tbilisi Sakrebulo (self-governing body) demoted the Chairman of the pro-presidential "United National Movement" Zaal Samadashvili on Friday.
The members of the "United National Movement", who remained in minority a week ago, didn't participate in the Sakrebulo meeting.
Sakrebulo appointed the MP Zurab Samushia to temporarily execute the duties of chairman.
He entered Sakrebulo during the elections in 2010 as a member of Christian-Democratic Movement; however, he currently acts as an independent MP.
The new majority has started consultations on the candidacy of a new chairman for Sakrebulo.
