Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 July / Trend corr S.Ilhamgizi/ "A demonstration took place in Turkish Aydin province's Kushadasi region on 10 July against arrest of country's former high-ranking servicemen and public figures," Turkish Cihan news agency reported.
Demonstrators met on the Ataturk Square, accusing the Justice & Development Party of exerting pressure on country's secularity supporters. Anti-US slogans were demonstrated.
Arrest of the members of illegal panturkish organization Ergenekon - followers of the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk - opposing governing Justice & Development Party commenced in Ankara and Istanbul. Eighty-five people were arrested during anti-Ergenekon operation. They are charged on a range of crimes and preparation of a coup.
