Azerbaijani Health Ministry announced the number of those who died and injured in the fire, which occurred in Sumgayit plant of synthetic detergents on Monday.

The fire killed two people and injured ten others, Health Ministry told Trend.
All the injured are employees of the Fire Prevention Service of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry.

The fire at the plant was extinguished, Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry told Trend.

Earlier, law enforcement agencies announced the name of a person who died in the fire at the plant in Sumgayit. He was Elman Safarov. It is unknown yet whether the deceased was employee of the plant or a fireman.

Earlier the Emergency Situations Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office reported that the explosions and the fire at the plant of synthetic detergents killed two people, injured two and one person went missing.

Three explosions took place in the territory of the plant on Monday.

The first explosion occurred in the woodworking shop, and the second - in two oil tanks located near the plant, law enforcement agencies told Trend.

Later the third explosion took place, Trend correspondent reported from the scene.
According to witnesses, Emergency Situations Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov arrived in the scene.

The plant affected by the explosion is not subordinate to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), and is engaged in private activity, SOCAR spokesman Nizameddin Guliyev told Trend.
