Powerful explosion occurred near a building of the Syrian Armed Forces General Staff in Damascus, "Al Jazeera" TV channel reported today.
There is no information about dead or wounded. This is the second blast near the Syrian Armed Forces General Staff during a month. Two explosions occurred near the building of the General Staff two days ago. Four employees of the security bodies were killed.
Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for a year and half.
According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 20,000.
More than 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
