The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has instructed Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia to investigate whether there are Azerbaijani citizens among the victims of a bus explosion that took place in the Russian city of Volgograd, Foreign Ministry spokesman, Elman Abdullayev told Trend on Monday.

He said the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan is keeping this issue under control.

RIA Novosti reported that investigators have initially found that the explosion in Volgograd was arranged by a suicide bomber from Dagestan, 30-year-old Naida Ahiyalova.

Currently, four remain in intensive care at City Hospital #15, and 24 people are in ordinary wards.

The explosion killed five people.
