Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 February / Trend / On 25 February, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the US Coordinator for Eurasian Energy Diplomacy Steven Mann, the Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides discussed enhancement of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States in the field of energy and the role of Azerbaijan as a transit country for transportation of energy resources from the Caspian Sea basin to Europe.
The sides said at the meeting that despite expansion of energy market, oil still takes the dominant position, but the importance of the liquefied natural gas is expected to increase in future.
They exchanged views on a range of other issues of mutual interest.
