Ilham Aliyev has sent a message of greetings to participants of the international conference on "Policy of Modernization: new economic and social challenges", which kicked off in Baku today.
The conference has been organized by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).
In his message, President Aliyev stressed that the first decade of the 21st century showed that the society entered a new stage in its development.
"It is necessary to recognize that the global challenges with which the humanity has faced require reviewing the traditional model of economic and social development," President Aliyev said in his message, which was read out by Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov.
"The development and prosperity of future generations depends on finding the right answers to today's challenges.
"In this regard, I consider it appropriate to organize active dialogue on these challenges with participation of representatives from over 30 countries of the world," President Aliyev said in his message.
Azerbaijan has recently marked the 20th anniversary of restoration of its independence, and politicians, scientists, public figures who gathered in Baku to exchange views on the new economic and social challenges, have an opportunity to clearly see the reforms carried out in the country and their results, the President's message underscored.
"The main sense of our policy, the main line, which leads us to the development, is modernization and renovation. Azerbaijan can be considered as a good venue for discussions on the topic "Policy of Modernization: new economic and social challenges". I believe that the various presentations of national experience can become a significant support for efforts to resolve the problems of modern society. I wish the conference participants efficient discussions and good mood," President Aliyev said in his message.
