The Centre for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijani president has today held a round table to discuss 'Civil Society: Realities and Prospects'.
Azerbaijani experts involved in developing civil society and a delegation consisting of the U.S assistant senators and congressmen attended.
They discussed the factors affecting the development of civil society, the challenges in this area facing non-governmental organisation and other issues.
The main purpose of the U.S. delegation's visit, consisting of 10 U.S assistant senators and congressmen, was to become acquainted with the state of civil society in Azerbaijan. U.S. experts visited regions of the country, exchanged views on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and met with refugees and homeless people.
