“The Milli Majlis [Parliament] is the place for real political struggle and civil struggle is possible only here,” Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of the Central Election Committee (CEC), told Trend.
Touching upon ignoring the work of parliament by 7 opposition MPs, Panahov noted that he did not support similar steps. “The most normal and civil way of political struggle in democratic world is participation in the work of the Parliament. Even in case of election of 1 opposition MP, his debt is to express his opinion at the Parliament. I suppose that these MPs will participate in the work of the Parliament. Otherwise, the issue of their mandate will be discussed in accordance with law,” Panahov stressed.
