Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend К.Zarbaliyeva / The preparatory hearing on the lawsuit of Ali Insanov, the former Azerbaijani Health Minister, against the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (NASA) was postponed to a later unknown date.
According to information provided by Sabail District Court of Baku, the attorney of the former minister, Sabir Gadirov, raised a petition to cease considering lawsuit against NASA until the completion of the appeal court process of Ali Insanov against the court sentence against him. The judge ensured Gadirov's petition.
During the last hearing, held at Sabail District Court in Baku presided by Judge Yusif Karimov , the attorney of the former minister produced a petition on submitting protocol to court and a resolution of NASA from 4th May, along with the Azerbaijani Grave Court's letters from 30th April, addressed to NASA, providing the participation of Ali Insanov in the process.
During the trial the lawyer addressed the court with a statement expanding the demands of the lawsuit. Shahverdiyev in his statement required to revoke the protocol of NASA from 4th May, and the Azerbaijani Grave Court's letter from 30th April, addressed to NASA and to fine both structures for moral damages at AZM 28mln. The sum will be given to the Scientific research Institute of pulmonary disease. The lawyer demanded a case against Faig Gasimov, the Judge of the Grave Court of Azerbaijan and to submit the document to the Azerbaijani Law Council.
The court provided the petition of the lawyer on the representation of aforesaid documents given to the court. The petition of Insanov to participate in the process was cancelled.
A discussion of the statement on expansion demands of the lawsuit was postponed until the next hearing.
The former minister was charged with coup d'etat and mass disorders in October 2005, as well as corruption and was sentenced to eleven years imprisonment along with the confiscation of his property.
Presently, Ali Insanov is detained at the Bail Investigation cell 1 Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan.
Insanov demands to relocate him to the Patient Care Institution of the Penitentiary Service. A medical examination proved Insanov's hernia.
