World practice was used during the creation of a concept of Azerbaijan’s Alat free economic zone (FEZ), Chairman of the board of the authorized structure of the Alat FEZ, Valeh Alasgarov said in an interview with Trend.
According to him, the use of high technologies, modern production standards, and the attraction of the experience of other countries make the FEZ the most attractive for investors.
“We aim to create such a free economic zone, which is aimed not only at developing the business of entrepreneurs, but also at attracting new technologies, new experience and personnel, and other know-how to Azerbaijan,” Alasgarov said.
He noted that business entities in carrying out activities in the FEZ should use high technologies, create competitive goods, goods with import potential in accordance with international standards.
A sector for the provision of services to the population, small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, IT and software services, will also be organized on the territory of the FEZ, added Alasgarov.
He said that the concept of the FEZ was created in accordance with the program for the development of Azerbaijan's economy and forecasts of the country's import-export potential.
“The economy of Azerbaijan will continue to grow. The liberation of the Azerbaijani territories (from Armenian occupation) even more increased the investment attractiveness of the country. The activities of the Alat FEZ and investment in it will also contribute to the development of the economy of Azerbaijan,” said the chairman.
