BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. The agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices from January through April 2022 increased, Trend reports citing a report by the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, this figure amounted to over 1.6 billion manat ($940 million), up by 3.6 percent on annual basis.

The committee also noted that in the first four months of this year, the area of ​​spring crops declined by 1.3 percent compared to the same period and equaled 306,100 ha.

In the reporting period, production in the livestock sector in Azerbaijan grew by 2.8 percent compared to 4M2021, amounting to 1.54 billion manat ($910 million) and in the sphere of crop production by 14.8 percent - up to 145.2 million manat ($85.41 million).

Meanwhile, 685,000 tons of milk, 643.1 million chicken eggs and 181,600 tons of meat were produced in the country. The production of meat increased by three percent, chicken eggs - by 2.9 percent, and milk - by 1.9 percent year on year.
