Türkiye discloses volume of cargo transshipment via its ports from Japan for 11M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Turkish ports transshipped 482,831 tons of cargo from Japan in the first 11 months of 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports on December 19.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 457 tons, while vessels under the flags of other countries - 478,835 tons of cargo.

From January through November this year, 3,539 tons of cargo were delivered by Japan-flagged ships to the Turkish ports, the ministry said.

In the reporting period, 9,212 tons of transit cargo from Japan were transshipped to the ports of Türkiye.

Turkish ports totally handled 31.16 million tons of cargo in November 2022.

During the specified month, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through the country’s ports amounted to 2.05 million tons.

Cargo transportation through the Turkish ports by ships under the flags of other countries equaled 29.1 million tons.

Totally, Turkish ports handled 6.75 million tons of transit cargo in November 2022.

In the first 11 months of this year, ports of Türkiye handled 361.98 million tons of cargo.

Ships under the Turkish flag transferred 25.79 million tons of cargo, whereas ships under the flags of other countries – 336.18 million tons.

Moreover, during this period, Turkish ports transshipped 73.75 million tons of transit cargo.
