Milk processing expanding in Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

With the support of the Georgian government, the 'Tsintskaro Plus' milk processing enterprise was expanded in Georgian Tetritsqaro Municipality, in the region of Kvemo Kartli, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Director of the Agency for Development of Villages and Agriculture under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Ilia Tamarashvili and Governor of Kvemo Kartli region Shota Rekhviashvili visited the enterprise and got acquainted with the production process on the spot.

An additional investment was made in the enterprise in the amount of 225,000 lari ($73,596), of which 155,000 lari ($50,699) is a preferential agricultural loan, and 70,000 lari ($22,896) is an investment of the beneficiary.

Within the framework of a preferential agricultural loan, special equipment was purchased that would allow 'Tsintskaro Plus' to produce not only cheese, but also milk and yogurts.

Under the concessional agricultural loan program, the beneficiary pays only 1.5 percent of the annual interest rate, and the remaining 11 percent is subsidized by the state.

Every day, the enterprise processes 4 tons of milk, and the products are sold in Tbilisi stores under the 'Tsintskaro Plus' brand.

The company employs 25 local residents.
