Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 February / corr. Trend U. Ismayilova/Employees of Locomotive Production Association of Azerbaijani Railway went on strike at 11:00 a.m. on 15 February demanding a pay rise in the Bilajari settlement of Baku, the employees of the Locomotive production association said in their telephone interview.
"Our current wages are not suitable and we demand our salaries to be doubled," the employees said.
The train drivers of the Association earn some AZN200 salary and the average employees earn AZN58. They all demand that their salaries be doubled.
According to the railwaymen, the management said that they could not increase their salaries yet as the association's budget had no allocation for it.
Asim Gasimov, the head of the Locomotive Production Association was not available for immediate comment.
