The U.S. government launched three-month econometrics courses for economic and banking specialists in Turkmenistan through the USAID.

The course will focus on applied econometric theory. The program envisages macroeconomic and microeconomic modeling, financial analysis, and monetary policy.

The course's major objective is to receive the necessary skills to examine economic hypotheses, develop and estimate econometric models and interpret economic results.

The event will be part of econometric workshops under a USAID project on economic reforms to increase competitiveness. The project is intended for employees of the Turkmen Economic Development Ministry, Finance Ministry, Central Bank, State Statistics Committee and Institute of Strategic Planning and Economic Development.

Since 1993, USAID allocated over $80 million to Turkmenistan to implement programs to support economic development, social sector and public initiatives.
