The Iranian market is still closed for Kazakh wheat, the managing director for foreign economic activity of JSC "Food Corporation", Daulet Uvashev, told Trend.
"50-percent duty, which Iran has imposed on imports of grain, does not allow the Kazakh grain to enter the Iranian market in full volume. So, now our grain is not shipped to Iran by sea, or rail," said Uvashev.
According to him, Iran introduced a duty on the import of grain due to the fact that it has saturated the own market for grain production.
"Until June last year, Iran has strenuously bought Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh wheat. In addition, Iran has collected its own large crop, and a great surplus appeared," said Uvashev.
