CBA's structure joins int'l network on OECD financial literacy

The Center for Research and Development at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) became a member of the International Network on Financial Literacy Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the CBA said.

The Center for Research and Development at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) became a member of the International Network on Financial Literacy Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the CBA said.

At present, this network includes more than 135 state organizations, most of which are central banks from 74 world countries. Azerbaijan became the third CIS country in a network, including the most active members - the United States, Canada, Germany, France.

The main purpose of establishing an international network on financial literacy is to ensure a dialogue and to exchange opinions among the major institutions of member-countries, as well as to implement advanced experience in this sphere and to give access to the OECD library.

The center started the implementation of several projects to improve the skills and knowledge of people, students and experts working in the financial and banking sectors.

The implementing of this project will help to direct the available resources of development to improve economic and financial literacy in the country.
