Work to create an intellectual transport management system in Baku will be completed by late February next year, Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov said in an interview posted on the official website of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.
Mammadov said work continues on the construction of the Center for Intellectual Systems Management. Construction is scheduled to be completed by late 2011.
The project cost is about $ 77 million.
Within the system, it is planned to create 639 sites for buses and about 140 sites for taxis.
The intellectual management system envisages the construction of 450 bus stops with special displays. The system also envisages 150 traffic lights of the electronic type.
