The issue of opening direct flights between Azerbaijan and Iraq has already been resolved, Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Heydar al-Barrak told journalists on Jan. 21.
"The main details have already been agreed upon. It is expected that flights will be conducted four times a week," the diplomat said.
The cost of air tickets for these flights has not yet been defined, the ambassador added.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iraq in 2013 amounted to $354.19 million, according to the State Customs Committee (SCC).
A significant part of this volume accounts for goods exported to Iraq worth $353.64 million. Azerbaijan imported Iraqi products worth $0.55 million.
