“Azerbaijan can make significant contribution to G20” (exclusive)

Azerbaijan's participation in G20 (the Group of Twenty) summit is of special importance for Turkey, a source in Turkey's presidential administration told Trend Nov.11.

The 2015 G-20 Antalya summit will be the tenth annual meeting of the G-20 heads of government. It will be held Nov.15-16 in Antalya, Turkey.

Azerbaijan can make significant contribution to G20, said the source, adding that today, it is one of the most developed countries of the region.

The source noted that during its presidency in G20, Ankara intends to draw the attention of the member states to the countries which do not participate in this organization.

Aside from the energy issues, the Syrian crisis will also be discussed with the leaders of some countries during the G20 summit, according to the source.

The Group of Twenty (G20) is a leading forum for discussing global economic and financial cooperation. The G20 includes 20 largest national economies - Australia, Argentina, Brazil, UK, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Canada, China, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the US, Turkey, France, South Korea, Republic of South Africa, Japan and the EU.

The abovementioned countries account for about 85 percent of the world GDP.
