Uzbekistan Airways increases passenger transportation

Uzbekistan Airways has transported 1.982 million passengers from Jan.-Sept, 2015, or 0.2 percent more than in the same period in 2014.

Uzbekistan's national air company has transported 619,900 passengers to the far abroad, 894,300 passengers - CIS countries and 468,000 passengers - on domestic routes during the reporting period.

This is while, the company transported 616,500 passengers to the far abroad, 940,300 passengers - CIS countries and 422,300 passengers - on domestic routes in Jan.-Sept. 2014.

Thus, the passenger transportation by Uzbekistan Airways to the far abroad and on domestic routes has increased by 0.7 percent and 10.8 percent, respectively, while it dropped by 4.9 percent to CIS countries.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transportation (including air mail and excess baggage) stood at 31,000 tons, compared to 32,000 tons a year earlier.

Uzbekistan Airways is the monopoly carrier in Uzbekistan and is fully owned by the state.

It carries out flights to 21 cities in Europe, America, Middle East, Asia, 22 CIS cities and to 11 destinations within the country.
